Getting fit and healthy without diet and exercise: Is it possible?
71How do you get fit and stay healthy without eating any special foods or doing any exercise?
The truthful answer is, you can't. Proper nutrition and exercise are the primary components of good health. You actually have to get off your butt and sweat a little, and while you're at it put down the french fries. To go with this hard advice, here is some comforting news.
Good eating and working out are absolutely, one hundred percent, money-ack guaranteed to work, to get you fit and looking good.
- What special foods should you be eating? You should think of all food that you put into your body as special food. Every nutrient counts toward good health, and excessive consumption of any food eventually adds up to poor health.
- Very special foods are those that are closest to having been in the ground. Basic vegetables and fruit cannot hurt you. (Why do you have to eat vegetables and fruits? Can't you just take a vitamin pill? click here) Whole grains are another food you should learn to like. Chicken and meat should be lean. All these should be prepared without added fat. In other words don't eat fried food and take note, "sauteed", even "lightly sauteed" is fried.
- Reducing weight through calorie reduction is best accomplished by eliminating extra fat and sugar from your diet. Fad diets that severely limit any of the basic food groups (carbohydrates for instance) are not sustainable and in extreme cases may harm your body. Stick with the US Recommended Daily Allowance for your basic nutrients, choosing low fat, low calorie foods to get these nutrients.
Excercise and plenty of it is the best way to maintain a healthy weight and the only way to lose weight effectively.
- A combination of cardiovascular excercise (jogging, swimming, bicycling) and strength training (weights, isometric excercises) will help you burn calories, build endurance and muscle mass. A minimum of 60 minutes per day three days a week is good for maintaining your fitness level. For weight loss and becoming a better athlete, five or six days are good. Check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise program.
- Over time working out will cause you to build muscle. As you build your muscle mass you increase the level of hormones that cause you to look youthful. Conversely, excess fat tissue releases hormones that cause you to look older sooner. Also, muscle burns more calories than fat tissue and in this way helps to control your weight. Ultimately more muscle means a slimmer, more toned and youthful appearance.
These are simple answers to a question everybody asks: How do I get fit and look good without doing anything? Well, like I said up top, you can't; but, the way to better health is simple too, and readily available to almost everybody with a little effort.

the anwer to the question is: you don't! Garbage in? how can you presume to eat whatever, and feel good and stay healthy? what kind of a foolish laziness is that? Good food first, fair amount of daily effort to keep the engines functioning well - have you never heard of the tail of a rich man's plow and a poor man's plow?
besides, why would you want to live a por substitute of a life, instead of good wholesome gett-it-all fulfilment of your in-born potential?
Not to be a naysayer, but I don't believe there is such a thing as "bad food". I have had two heart attacks, not because I ate the wrong foods, but because I ate too much of the wrong foods. It's true that proper diet and exercise are the only way to get fit, but I find it much easier to stick to it if I can look forward to the occasional pizza or onion rings. The operative word here is occasional.
Let's go to an extreme for moment. You are the World Genius, and your name is Stephen Hawking...You are wheel chair bound, and you cannot move, or talk. Quad., with no abilities but your head being able to move. Hypothetically, according to my own personal research. A person even in this condition could in fact be, become, or improve their current state of function by taking specific nutrients, and supplements. I am living proof that health can be manipulated no matter what chaos is going on.
My belief is that you can in fact improve your health, and keep it there, no matter what else you may or may not be able to do. I can think of many cases (medical) that were improved dramatically with vitamins, herbs, and supplements.
So Balancing everything out, gives you a better bottom line for sure. It's merely mathematical. Analyzing what you're up against, and calculating how you're going to combat it.
When there is no movement of the body, there is wasting of the muscles. You lose 5%, Per Week of inactivity. I already lived it, so I can tell you first hand...it's not good. The muscles being toned is what holds the bones in place.
Quite the startling number...It's called "Wasting"...Where you lose your muscle tone. So to combat that, involuntary movement would be required regularly, regardless of what else may be happening.
According to the Japanese...Movement is extremely important to sustain life.
They take it much more serious than us Americans.
Hope this helps a little.
Keep on movin, and take good care of yourself!

Scripture had given us the keys to Weight Loss success 2000 years before science had a clue. Now that science and scripture are in agreement, who will be foolish enough to ignore the message? Amen! Too many times, we are looking for an overnight fix to our years of bad decisions about diet and exercise. Fitness takes time and effort. Fitness and health are EARNED. They do not come in a revolutionary food, a pill, or in 10 minutes per week. These are Nature's rules and there is no way around them.
